My late father, James Tarpey was born in the village of Clooncouse, Charlestown, County Mayo.  At the turn of the 20th century there were many Tarpey families living in Clooncouse most probably all related in one way or another.  According to family history, the Clooncouse Tarpeys were originally from Farranyharpy in County Sligo and we're moved to Mayo by Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century.

Tarpey seems to have been one of the post and run variety- joined, made one post, never logged back in. The link to their website comes up on my computer as 'not secure.' If they have the same email address and have enabled notifications they may get notified of a reply to this topic.
