parkinson family ex kirklington who came to castlecomer with wandesfordes
« on: Tuesday 20 November 18 11:55 GMT (UK) »
Am looking for information on William Parkinson (c. 1640's) who came from Kirklington or Burneston with Christopher Wandesforde when colonising Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland.
Have found a Christopher Parkinson (born 1480 - MP for Berwick etc.) plus an Edmund Parkinson of Allerthorpe who married Susan Lascelles nee Wandesforde c. 1570's) and would like to add to the family tree and tie them all in. I know a William Parkinson lived in Castlecomer c. 1641.
Can you help me add to the family tree? Ideally I am trying to link the Parkinson of Castlecomer to those that currently live in Co. Laois near Abbeyleix / Roskelton/Raheen. Thanks

I believe that I am related to that William Parkinson and his brother Edward Parkinson.

Can we trade information?

Saw your response of 10th. Sept. 2019 about William Parkinson(originally lived in Castlecomer c. 1640's). First off, did I meet you briefly in the National Registry of Deeds, Henrietta St. in Dublin August 3rd. 2016???  I am available to swop whatever information that I have in this regard. Unfortunately it is not a huge amount but it might fill in a gap. If you wish check back on your e mails for period August 4th. 2016 and Sept. 8th. 2018 when we had an exchange of mails on this family topic.. You can then use my e mail address directly rather than this forum. Looking forward to hearing from you. P.S. Will be in the Syracuse (NY) area next week 19-21st. Sept. we could meet if this was anyway convenient to where you live. If not , not to worry let's communicate by e mail.Best wishes.
Ted H.

I too am searching for a link between the Wandesforde/Parkinson family c.1630 of Kirklington, Bleasdale and Kilkenny. First known ancestor I have is  James Parkinson, yeoman of Kilkenny, my 4 x great grandfather,  who came to England c.1720 and married  Jane Birch in Shrewsbury in 1723. Also tracking William Parkinson, possibly kin of Sir Christopher Wandesforde,  of Castlecomer, 1637 to 1641 as a possible ancestor. Also, the Catholic, John Parkinson, Royal Herbalist to Charles l  who came from Bleasdale district, born  in 1567, but spent his life in London.
