I have had much success accessing probate records for all provinces except natal. am i doing something wrong or are there other ways for accessing natal records e.g. 2160 for year 1953

Sadly no, I know he was born in Rondebosch, Cape Province, 10 February 1894

Appears his estate settled in 1955. Estates are only online up to 1950. You can contact https://www.eggsa.org/ who will access the record for a small fee. Here is the Natal probate site and you will see it only goes up to 1950 https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/229462?availability=Family%20History%20Library
