The parents' names match except for the mother's first name and I've seen a lot of Irish immigrants with fluctuating birth dates, so I wouldn't definitely rule it out. 

There is a widowed Katherine Fredenburg in New Haven, Connecticut in the 1920 census with daughter Kathleen, age 12.  In the 1930 census in Hamden, Connecticut, there are Pearl J., Catherine, Kathleen, and Katherine Hart.  Katherine A. Hart is widowed in the 1940 census in Hamden with Kathleen Doolittle and her family.

I agree this is them . Everything revovles around New Haven Ct.

Catherine and John Fredenburg were married in 1903.

jamjar, i reckon the marriage you found of the pearl hart is them. i was told her mother was bridget but she could have been Elizabeth. in regards to peter i have no idea if he was married before he came to America.

Maybe you can clear up something for me . the Katherine hart that is 22 on the 1930 census is the daughter from the first marriage and the second Katherine hart that is 15, she is the adopted daughter. would you think that the person writing the census got them mixed up. and the 15 yr old Katherine who is know 25 . she is a cousin on the 1940 census.

How to search for Irish records was explained on your Ireland posts...  All you have to do is put his name in plus year ranges    tick Marriages   and hit search!
