Farrow England

Can anyone help me? I have a James Farrow married in Killearn Scotland in 1866. From the 1901 Census I have found he was born in England around 1832, Parents were William Farrow and a Mary Atkinson.

Hi Sty, If you post all details of the 1901 cencus regarding John Farrow, eg where was he born and where he was living at the time etc I will look it up for you

In 1901 he was staying at  Boquhan Killearn Scotland - Place of birth is given as England. From his marriage cert got parents names and his year of birth 1832. Don't have anything else to go on - his job was a stone mason.

There are 9 John Farrow born between 1831-1833  in various places in England, of which 5 were born in 1832 so its vitually impossible to  know which may be yours without knowing which county he was born in

Hi Sheila,

You say that James FARROW was married in Killearn in 1866 and was still there in 1901.  A search for him on ScotlandsPeople in the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses would seem to be a good idea - just in case a more precise birthplace than England was given in them.

Incidentally, I looked for his marriage in the IGI but couldn't find it??  Interestingly, however, there is one FARROW marriage in Killearn in 1866 but the forename is William:
William FARROW m Ann YUIL, 24 Aug 1866, Killearn Stirlingshire
And the birth to these parents  (Ann's surname rendered variously as TUILL or YUILL) of:
William FARROW, b 28 Nov 1867
Alexander Tuill FARROW, b 13 Oct 1869
Elizabeth Robertson FARROW, b 16 Nov 1871
Mary FARROW, b 4 Nov 1874

Hi All

Have checked out the census and have found that JAP you were right. IT was William Farrow that I am looking for.

So what I have is William Farrow born in 1832 in Lancashire England son of William Farrow and Mary Atkinson. Can anyone help me with a birth date.
