The death certificate of son James (d 1893) may provide a clue but I can only get this by sending a cheque for $40 to the US as its not available on line. Plus there is no guarantee that his father is mentioned on the certificate.
For less than $40 (approx. £30) you could view many of the possibles on SP which you haven't yet checked, doing it in stages of £10 at a time i.e. not a lump sum in one go.
£30 would buy you 120 credits @ £0.25 each (40 per £10 @ £0.25), each DC would be 6 credits at 0.25p each = £1.50 per cert. i.e. £30.00 would buy you 20 certs. of your choice.
