Hi Ray,
Any chance of a look-up for the Parents of Ernest Alvin Clark Born & Died Reigate 1877 anything from the Baptism & Burial records please.
My Dad is Ernest Alvin, his Dad was Alvin Ernest, my middle name is Alvin. I would love to know if he is one of ours.                                                                              Can you imagine, when I was a kid the only other Alvin I knew was a Chipmunk.
Paul.

Paul,

Limited success at present. Cannot find a baptism but I have Ernest Alvin Clarke buried in Reigate 6 June 1877 aged 14 days. His abode was described as 'The Hatch', Reigate.

Would be happy to help futher re: parents, but I need rather more info/clues on them.

Have you tried ordering a certificate through 1837.com to get their names?

Hi Ray,
That sounds like him to me even with the 'E' I still get that myself.                                                                         I was hoping his Parents would have been on the Burial record as I can't really afford certificates until I am sure.

Frank William Woodley born ~Sep 1874 Surbiton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey.
George Douglas Woodley born 9 MAR 1877 Surbiton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. My g-grandfather!

Time permitting, but less importantly their cousins the Goslings, all daughters of Richard Henry and Kathleen M S (nee Dyer):
Muriel K Gosling born ~Dec 1891 Bagshot, Chertsey, Surrey.
Aileen Maria Gosling born ~Mar 1895 Bagshot, Chertsey, Surrey.
Beryl Maud Gosling born ~Mar 1897 Bagshot, Chertsey, Surrey.
Jocelyn Helen Gosling born ~Sep 1898 Bagshot, Chertsey, Surrey.

Geoff,

Children of John Bankam Woodley and Eleanora Maria (nee Allen).

Edith Rosalie Woodley baptised December 17 1863 Send, Surrey.

Thomas Herbert Woodley baptised December 17 1864 Send, Surrey. (yes, exactly a year later!)

Septimus Charles Woodley baptised October 3 1868, Send, Surrey.
(that name suggests a September birth !)

Father is described as 'Gentleman' from Send in all these entries.

Richard Henry Woodley born 19 November 1872 Surbiton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. Baptised in Christ Church, Surbiton 14 December 1872. Father described as Brewer living in Surbiton.

Frank William Woodley born 17 July 1874 Surbiton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. Baptised in Christ Church, Surbiton 8 August 1874. Father described as living in Surbiton Hill - occupation looks like dresser but writing is bad and I imagine is meant to be brewer!

George Douglas Woodley born 9 March 1877 Surbiton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. Baptised in Christ Church, Surbiton 2 April 1877. Father a brewer from Surbiton.

The Camberwell records will be held in London somewhere, maybe Southwark Council - please do a check on the net.

If I have time in the future, I'll look at your cousins, but cannot promise.

Ray

Geoff,

Just a PS - to get the actual birth dates for your Send people, you'll have to order the birth certificates.

Fantastic, THANKS ever so much Ray. I have gained from you quite an amount of information that I didn't know before, especially birth and baptism dates.
If you do ever get a chance to look up the cousins info it would be equally gratefully received and useful as the family lost contact due to WW1.
I had always assumed that Septimus would be because he was number 7 child and that I would be missing some. Is it common that someone who is Septimus was so named because of the month? Probably you have seen more than me. In 1871 it looks more like Septuias (?), in1881 census he has renamed himself as Charles S, he then seems to disappear forever! Although in other parts of non-blood family I have a Sextus, Septimus, Octavia and Nonus as middle names!!!
THANKS AGAIN,   ;D
Geoff.
