1851 census-Gibbons
« on: Wednesday 10 August 05 13:44 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have the 1851 census index?  ???

I have 2 William Gibbons, born in St. Mary Bourne in 1808 and 1809. I believe one was living in Kimpton or Hurstbourne Priors at the time, but the other one (mine!) has disappeared!!
The clues may lie in the children, all born in Longparish. I know that the first child, Eliza (b. 1830)  had the misfortune to be living at the Andover Workhouse in 1851, but I have been unable to find William (a widower) or any of the others.
Details would be
William Gibbons aged about 49
George, about 20
Charlotte, about 17
Mary Ann, about 15

They did not live in Longparish, as I have checked that.

Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help

Stuart

Hi Stuart

Are you still looking for this information?  If so, are you able to add anything further which might assist in the search?

Thanks for the follow-up. Having the 1851 on ancestry.com now, I have been able to track down the children, but still no sign of William so I'm at a bit of a dead end I'm afraid.
Thnaks for asking
Stuart
