Thanks for making contact. Just discovered your post.
It's the original Sherman Lodge I'm interested in.
Although I haven't got documents connected with the house with the Spencer family name attached, I do have them referenced on graves and baptisms at the house. It says they were born and died at the Sherman Lodge.
I found a newspaper article saying that it was sold 15 Apr 1812. I'm guessing this is when my Spencer relatives sold it, but it's possible they rented it for decades.
The first mention are John Spencer and his wife Dorothy who died at Sherman Lodge 1732 and 1728 respectively. All their 8 children were born and died at Sherman Lodge.  The last reference I have is a 6th Great Grandmother dying there in 1797.
I imagine there are tithe maps, but don't know whether they cover the 18th C.

if you pm me your email address i think i have an old document that mentions shermans lodge, I will be up there tomorrow not 50 yards from where it stood! (the glenfield secret garden).
