There are no births for a (name beginning with) Ann which would include Annie in 'Glasgow' 1878 with surname McDonald (fuzzy matching option) for Glasgow specifically although there's a few in the Glasgow areas of Lanarkshire.

It may be worth checking some of those out via credits on scotlandspeople?

I couldn't find her on the 1881 census with correct parents although I found a few possibles but nothing definite i.e. I'm wondering if Annie was illegitimate although using her paternal surname which was a common occurrence?

Ireland:- Cullen, Flannigan (Derry), Donahoe/Donaghue (variants) (Cork), McCrate (Tipperary), Mellon, Tol(l)and (Donegal & Tyrone)

Kettering, Northampton:- MacKinnon

Canada:- Callaghan, Cumming, MacPhee

Hi Rosinish,  They are on the 1881 census, parents Hugh, Agnes, children Maggie, b 1876 Annie , b 1878 and John b 1879. Another six children after John. They lived in Kinning Park , Glasgow.
Glasgow was always considered as in Lanarkshire.
There are a few Annie McDonalds born 1878, on SP, opened a few but can't find the correct parents for my Annie.

Hi That's interesting. . She was my g grandmother.  What branch of the family are you from. Did you know much of her life in Canada. ?
I knew nothing about her life. Never spoken about in my family. I discovered her while researching my family tree around 15 to 20 years ago. But, haven't found out much about when she left her family to go to North America or what she did there.

I having a guess I might know how we might be connected possibly. You may or may not be the nephew of my grandad. I could be completely wrong here.
Just littler snippets , first I heard of family going to canada was when my grandad was left money by his aunt that would of been late 80s early 90s maybe who lived in canada and passed.
