Mary Parkinson, Born Pilling 1828

Mary was born in Pilling and Baptised 24/2/28 at Pilling. Parents Robert and Mary.

She married one of my relatives - Thomas Atkinson and they had children from 1856 onwards.

I can only find one marriage that seems applicable - 25/7/1853 at Liverpool but do not understand why they would marry here. There is a record in the 1851 Census of Mary Parkinson, Born 1828 Pilling. She is a Servant at 15 Chapel Street, Lancaster.

Cannot find Census records of her parents for 1841 and 1851 of which I am certain.

Doesn't help to find them but a family tree has her parents as

Robert Parkinson born 1786 and

Mary Dickinson born 1793

I wonder if one or both had died before 1841/1851 even though Robert isn't noted as deceased on the marriage. 

Maybe a check for deaths?
