Cradley is a well known chain making area.

My faher's paternal family were from Kingswinford. Some of their certs. are from Stourbridge others were Dudley registered. That whole area is fluid where they registered births, marriages and deaths. My 3rd gt grandparents went from Kingswinford to St Thomas's in Dudley to baptise their children but the children married at Kingswinford.

My father's maternal side started in Old Swinford but migrated through Kingswinford to West Bromwich then back to Kingswinford. The area was part of the Black Country and there was lots of heavy industry during Victorian times (industrial revolution).

1841 Census just states Lucy Billingham is born in County (1841 does not state pob for anyone), 1851 she is born Cradley, Worcs (for others under Bellingham on Anc.)

1841 Census
Lucy Billingham, 60 Independant
Jeremiah Billingham, 30 Chain Maker
Eli Billingham, 25 Chain Maker
Samuel Billingham, 19

Having said all that I ant find a Lucy Beach/Beech/Bache/Bach c 1780 Cradley ::)

Billingham does has variations to it, Billingham or Bellingham. For example Foley Billingham but passed away registered as Foley Bellingham.

It's all so confusing for me, I'm always debating if that could be right person, right family, etc. I see's the distance on google map and I'm like could it be  ??? The boundaries or the places people may travel for marriage or baptism's just confuses me.

I would forget about Dorset. She's not from there. There doesn't appear to be any Baptisms for Cradley pre 1785 so you won't find her. There are lots of Beach's in Worcestershire so no reason to believe she's from anywhere else.

Hmmmm, only their marriage would show up who the parents were. But I don't think I can order a marriage for the 1800 :/
