There are Roman Catholic baptism records for Mary 1834, Jane 1843, and Sarah 1847 (all Glasgow) available from Scotlands People. What names are given for sponsors?Mothers name varies ORR / AULD / AULT
Earlier thread on Michael's parents say OP has Michael's death certificate-https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=797433.msg6544699#msg6544699Another point regarding the names- Helen and Ellen will be used interchangeably but Ellen much more common in Ireland than Helen. Often an Ellen from Ireland will be known as Helen once in Scotland.Agnes, Nancy, Ann(e) and sometimes Hannah all interchangeable.Orr is a common surname in Ulster but Auld less so.One thing I didn't notice mentioned yet is the family's religion.
I think I was a bit loose with my Orr/Auld. I have Orr's somewhere in my links, around Ballymoney I think, and I have seen them recorded as Auld. Aside from a couple of times seeing them as Auld I usually record them as Orr.
