My maternal great-grandmother was born in Shropshire in1853. Her first name was Amelia, possibly Amelia Matilda. She was probably Roman Catholic. She married a Kauffman Spier, perhaps in Liverpool, were she lived after she was married.
I'm trying to establish her maiden name. I think it may have been Onions (spelling?) or Bromley/Bromly. My grandmother used to talk about a cousin, Mary Beynon, who may or may not have been related to this great-grandmother. so maybe she was a Beynon too. I simply don't know.
