Researching a Publican - CLOSED
« on: Sunday 06 May 18 19:41 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find out who the Publican for the Seven Stars Inn, Timsbury, Somerset was in 1944. All I know is the surname was Bush.

Is there a website that tells you more about researching publicans after the 1911 census?

Thanks

Who are you looking for?

If you were given  a name, how would you know if it was (in)correct?

Hi

I am looking for the full name of the publican whose surname was Bush. It is someone my mum once knew. He would have been there in 1944

Hi

As I said I am looking for the full name of Mr Bush the Publican from the Seven Stars in Timsbury, Somerset and all I can tell you is he was definitely there in 1944.

That is why I asked if there was a website where I might find details of the publican at the time. Unfortunately the PubHistory site does not have details of the publicans in the pub in 1944.

"Mr" is a step forward.

Was he a "romantic connection"? "professional connection?"
Was he much older/ much younger?
What was his employment status? (Owner? Son of?)

What are the circumstances of the connection arising?
Related?

Is the pub still open? If so it might be worth contacting them to see if they have a list of the publicans.

Just seen they have a FaceBook page - might be worth putting something on there.

He was the publican as I mentioned. He was a romantic interest, not that that helps in looking for someone.

I am guessing, but not sure, which is why I am asking for suggestions of where I might look for info that he would have been between 30 - 40 years old

The connection, difficult to explain

Paula

Just seen the post about Facebook page. I will try that thank you, definitely worth a try
