Thank you, eileen. I'm following up on an issue I had previously on these boards. My gggrandmother, Rosanna Lovely or Leveley, was resident in some kind of religious community in Montreal in 1891. I don't know if it was a convent, a hospital, a prison, a workhouse, or what. I know that nuns were in charge of all four in those days. She appears as "lodger"; there seem to be 158 residents and she shows up on the fifth page.
Here below is the first page, which enumerates, I suppose, the mother superior and the head nuns. Beyond that, I am lost. I am going to Montreal this summer and want to be able to at least identify the place she lived. She died in 1896, I have her death record, and I would like to find out where she might be buried.
