Many thanks to you for trying to find her for me. I think Louisa sounds a likely candidate for his sister. I wonder if this is why his eldest daughter was called Mary Louisa? Perhaps after his wife and sister? There is a seven year age gap between Edward and this Louisa you mention. I wonder if there were more siblings or perhaps just the two of them?
I wonder who this Margaret Grieveson was (1871) and how she and Emma are recorded as cousins? Or perhaps 'cousin' is just a throwaway term given to the census taker?
