On the other hand the people inheriting the money wouldn't have got anything but for the Heir Hunters.

I quite agree it`s well suited to beginners in that it shows more clearly how the research is done. Not sure about Michael Buerk, sorry.

I record it and watch it during the evening.  To me it's just a relaxing programme after a busy day - plus I'm quite nosy so I'm interested in what the heir hunters find.  :)

I quite like it being a 45-minute format rather than a full hour of which annoyingly a quarter is recaps of things shown earlier in the programme.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

I'm not sure about this series either!

What has annoyed me is they have referred to the 1939 as a Census.  Surely the professionals who work in the offices of the various companies know that is not correct.

Wouldn't be a bad idea if they explained what the 1939 survey was, and its purpose. I understand it was used for the issue of ration books at the start of WW2, and later for the issue of National Health numbers when the NHS was set up.  (1947?)

So far I've only heard Michael Buerk refer to it that way. The workers seem to be consistent in saying Register, or just "in 1939".

No, I won't be watching any more.  Really don't like the new format, sometimes seems like every sentence is being repeated.
I really did enjoy watching the Fraser and Fraser staff and other companies in the earlier series of a few years back.
