Michael Usher - Sunderland

I wonder if anyone can help me discover the background to a Michael Usher, born circa 1862. This info I have is that he married a Hannah Mary Lownds 1885, he then appears on the 1891 Census at Old Grey St. Sunderland and in the 1901 Census at Tee St. Sunderland. I am desperate (I dont use that word lightly!) to understand who were Michaels mother & father and their background

What birthplace does he have on census? 

From that it should be possible to trace his birth registration to enable you to order his birth certificate and find out his parents. 

His marriage certificate should give the name of his father.

Hello,
If you have him on those censuses, do you not have access to earlier ones?
You can search Family Search and the information there shows family names.

There is only one Michael Usher born abt 1862 in Sunderland showing - parents Robert and Margaret.
Free BMD gives a likely marriage in 1852 and GRO confirms that mmn is Carr.
