Stitt Family Inquiry

I am looking for information on a Sarah Stitt who was present at the death of Margaret Gibson ( nee Stitt), widow of my 3x great grandfather, the Rev James Gibson of Lislooney Presbyterian Church, Armagh.
After his death in 1864 she moved to Holywood and died there at Church Street on 13th November 1877. If I could find any Stitt family descendants from this family, I might be able to find where my 3rd great grandfather is buried. I have not been able to find this information and the church doesn't know.

Gibson - On Sabbath morning, the 7th ult.(sic)**, at his residence, Manooney, Tynan, the Rev. James Gibson, senior minister of the Presbyterian congregation at Lislooney, in the 94th year of his age, and 65th of his ministry.

(** Shd. be "7th inst")

The Armargh Guardian, 12 Oct 1866, records "Only a few weeks since, he walked into our office and was in perfect possession of his mental and physical faculties".

Or is there another James Gibson?

Sorry for that mistake in the year. His death date should read 7th of October 1866.

Re Margaret "Stitt" -

On Christmas Day 1849 the Rev James Gibson, Lislooney, married " ... Margaret Stitt, relict of the late William Stitt, Esq, of Dublin, Architect."

The 1849 marriage isn't available on Irish Genealogy yet but extracted LDS record gives bride's father as Hugh Gallagher and the marriage place as Aghalurcher-

Hugh Gallagher above is only one of 4 occupiers, of this very small townland,the others are George Willis, Francis M’Caffrey and Thomas Sherry, all of whom had many times more land than Hugh. But Hugh had a little garden

Moughley townland is only 229 metres NE of Agalurcher parish church and visible and named on the Griffith valuation map, its visible but not named on modern google map

doesn’t have the map numbers within Moughley perhaps the main library for the area has it.

 Valuation continuation books bring the occupiers up to about 1922 see PRONI BELFAST

Have you tried contacting the Presbyterian Historical Society situated in College Green, Belfast? They have information on ministers, congregations etc.

Yes, I have contacted them and they told me they have no record of  where he was buried. Thought it was likely to be at his church, but that community says he isn’t buried there.
