Highly unlikely to be a coincidence.

There is a McGinigle family in Paisley in 1911 consisting of George, 32; Mary, 30; Anda, 7; Janet, 3 and Elizabeth, 1.
In 1901 there are Janet, 45; Daniel, 25; George, 22 and Janet, 14.
I don't see them in 1891 but in 1881 they are McGonnigle and there are George, 30; Mrs J, 27; Daniel, 6; John, 4 and George 2.
