Name on emigration document

Hi

I can't work out the first name that passenger Joseph Carney gave as his nearest relative. I believe it is his father ? Carney, Longford Ire.
Taken from ship manifest arriving at New York in 1909.

Thanks for the replies. John had been my initial guess but I had some doubts as the name John appears elsewhere and differs from this one. Would the whole page be written by the same person?

I have seen these and managed to trace quite a bit of the Thompson side of my tree both in Ireland and the US but have had less luck with the Carney/Kearney side. Knowing Joseph’s father was probably John should hopefully give me some clues.
