Dating of an unidentified girl from a Sydney, NSW album

This unidentified girl is from a Sydney, NSW album. Other photos in the album are, I believe, dated to around the 1870s. I have searched Google images for a dress with a collar like hers but have been unsuccessful. Might anyone have an idea of an approximate date please? Also, would people agree with her age at around 12 years, give or take a year? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I only have a scan of the front of the photo and cannot access the original album.

Older than 12. Late teens I would suggest.
I've seen a similar neckline like this but it's difficult to be precise without seeing the original but I would say late 70's - early 80's.

Agree with Jim. She is a few years older than 12. Hair was put up at 16+ . I think she looks about 17.

Thank you very much for your replies. I suspect, but can't prove, that it's a photo of a girl born in 1862 so a date of the late 1870s/early 1880s works with her being older than I thought.
