One possibility from the 1911 index on Familysearch is the Arthur Smith living in wilmslow, father Percy smith, Arthur born county cork. ireland.

Only because he is in the right area :)

i have just found a arthur william smith in the ireland, civil registration births index

date of registration 1898 jul-aug-sept
registration district mallow

in the 1911 census arthur william smith is listed as being born in buttevant county cork which is just a short distant from mallow

can anybody find the actural birth date!!!!!!

You would have to buy the birth certificate for the birth date.    Have you looked for him on the 1939 register as that gives birth dates though they are not always accurate  ???

Arthur William Smith was my grandad and did live in Sale until 1970. He was born in Cork, Ireland to Percy and  Kate (Catherine Stoker). My Mum was Olive and the fourth child of Alice and Arthur. I have done further family research with the help of a relative In Australia and between us have traced back the ancestry back to the 1790s. Arthur had a number of sibblings one of which was Percy Benjamin Smith who was killed in action in France in WW1 in 1918.
