I look on it as a consolation prize for having taken out a subscription.   :D  We won't have to answer any look-up requests over the weekend, and we can concentrate on our own researches.    ;D :-*
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

So are Ancestry also adding on 4 free days to all their loyal subscribers? I guess the answer will be, "No"  ::)

Rather than giving away free weekends its a pity they don't try and sort out all the problems they are having at the moment.

No benefits for the longstanding subscribers....no discount for years of loyalty  ::)
Carol

It would be nice if they would add up all these free days and add it on to longstanding subscribers  :) :)

I read this thinking good news as my sub expired at the start of March . . .  however I just signed in to check the subscription rates only to find a year doesn't appear to be an option any longer, it's either per month or per 6 months, and the 6 month rate is quite an increase on the 12 month rate.

So that's annoying.
I was offered the continuous membership of a year at renewal time, had no idea it was about to change/go up a lot.

You might find family in the records but they don't usually include public member trees in these offers.

That's what I thought, but have been assured by several people who have done it that it works as long as you have let your subscription expire. Worth trying, they can only reject it. I think it ends 4th April.
