Glad to have been of assistance.  ;D. Don’t forget to keep checking the automatic renewal is unticked so they don’t charge you full price next year.

That is all well and good Rosie, but if I click on it. I am cancelling my sub. now and I do not want to do that. I want to make sure I am not on auto renewal, and I can find nothing for that option. As mentioned above by Groom.

I cancelled my subscription by doing that shortly before it was due to run out.  The subscription continued to the end of my 12 month period.  I got emails confirming it would stop at the renewal date (not the date I had cancelled it on)

They have to let it run until the end of the subscription date as you've paid for that.

I will keep an eye out for the Ancestry offers when my subscription ends in August. In the meantime, I will utilise the free access for the other Commonwealth records as I too only have the British subscription.

Now, which great, great uncle was it that went abroad!?! ;D

In case it's any consolation to those who have subscriptions, I have spent all morning looking through records for free but learned nothing that I did not know already and could not have found out from the Mormon web site or other free sites.  One enters a name and is shown 30 or so possible records, most of which don't match.  There appears to be no way to restrict the results by time or place or type of record, and no way to search further records for the name supplied: just take it or leave it.

It's simply a teaser to try and encourage us to take out a subscription.
I for one am not tempted.

Thank you Rosie and Groom, I stand corrected. Legs have been firmly slapped  8)

Perhaps you are not seeing US records as I think it is only access to Commonwealth records  :-\

I hope you did not really think we were slapping your legs  :-\
