I realise that we're nearly 7 years later here...but I am also related to Ellen Cogan! She's my 2nd great grandmother.

Welcome to Rootschat!

Just to add to the list of names representing Ellen Rachford Cogan.

The name can be:

Rachford
Rochford
Rotchford
Rochfort

Some databases capture these variations but some don't. Best plan to to run all of these variations through any database that you come across.

I've done a DNA test, yes (via Ancestry). The sub-regions of Ireland for me are Munster, Waterford, Ulster and Northern Ireland (i.e. the North of Ireland).
