Many Latin inscriptions contain abbreviations; without context, they can be difficult to translate. For instance, the "obt" in the phrase "vidnec que obt" could stand for: obtemporo, obtero, obtestor, obtenio or obtutus. I found all these words on a website called latintranslation.school. My guess is that you are going to have to try and determine what is abbreviated, what word the abbreviation could stand for, and what words make sense together within the context of the transcription.
P.S. My grandfather used to teach Greek and Latin, but it's a long time ago now. I think you may have inspired an urge to learn it.
