Hi There

I came across your request while searching the web for my ancestors. I have a Rebecca Taylor born in 1829, Surfleet she is my 3xgreat grandmother and i have her parents as being Edward Taylor and a Susan ?. Do you know if your Edward you have mentioned had a daughter called Rebecca. The dates you have mentioned seem feasible.

Thanks
Sharon - Australia

Hi

Sounds like the same person.

Edward Taylor Married Susanna Clark  16th October 1826 in Surfleet. They had a Rebecca and a Susan (who is my ancestor). I can't find any more info on Edward except his birth in Woolwich about 1802. Do you have any more info on the Taylors ?.

Thanks

Vanessa Gardiner nee Wheatcroft.

What about Edward TAYLOR son of Edward and Rebecca baptised at Surfleet, Lincolnshire 1802 http://www.familysearch.org (select Record Search Pilot option) - can you discount him?

Hi Vanessa

Thanks for that, i feel i have the right parents/family. I also looked at the site mentioned by Casalguidi and that looks hopefull also. Rebecca married a Thomas Dutton in 1860 at Horncastle Lincolnshire. This was Thomas's second marriage and they only had one child that i can see - Lavinia Florence Dutton (my 2x great grandmother). She immigrated to Australia in 1910 -they had 14 children all born in England in the Wisbech area. My only question mark would be that my Rebecca did not name her only daughter after her mother and her only daughter did not name any of her children either Edward or Susan and all of the 14 had both a first and middle name. Not unusual i suppose, but i would have thought either name would have appeared somewhere?
Anyway i will keep following investigating and see what i can find. It's a bit hard being over in Australia so i do a lot on the web.
Will let you know if i find anything.
Thanks again
Sharon

Hi Vanessa,

Mum has just received the marriage certificate for Rebecca Taylor who married Thomas Dutton, her father is listed as Edward Taylor a labourer. Rebecca and Thomas were married at Horncastle.
