I am looking to trace birth cert of Cora Pepin born April 1913 Massachusetts and died Aug 1998 also Mass. Mothers name Margaret Ann Pepin. Any help would be most welcomed. Thank you Jake01.

Did come across a listing  U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index - Cora Marie Dowling
Cora M Dowling - Cora Marie Pepin born 19 April 1913 and passed away 20 Augist 1998
Parents Moses JPepin and mother Margaret A Green.

Feb 1942: - Name listed as Cora Marie Dowling 10 Jan 1989: - Name listed as Cora M Dowling.

Yes Cora M Dowling (her married name). Mother and father also correct. The only info I have is that she may have been born out of wedlock, so whether or not Pepin is right for her birth cert. any help to point me in the right direction welcomed.  Jake01

Hmmm  1930 census gives no clue as to how long the parents had been married.  Didn't see anything under Green. Notice the gap between the birth of Cora and the birth of Charles David (1918) 
There was a Cora G Pepin birth registered in 1910 Worcester MA.  But parents were Ernest Pepin and Nathalie Lavoie.
No anc tree's offer any clues.

I see where your issue is. Moses & Margaret are married in 1920 census with daughter Cora born 1913. But they didn't get married until 1916.

Cora is is either adopted, Margaret's daughter with some else or born out of wedlock.

I Thank you both for your help. Yes I have much info on this family. Mothers birth,marriage,dead. and other children Charles etc. As I say the mystery is Cora. Maybe I will never solve this query (Would be nice to complete this part if my research)  The mother Margaret Ann Pepin (Green) is my wife's aunt. Jake01.

Here's a possibility - an unnamed girl born to William Burke and Margaret Green on 18 Apr 1913 in Worcester:

Moses Pepin and Margaret Green were married in Worcester in 1916, and the birthdate is only one day off from what the Social Security record shows.  So it's a pretty good fit on both location and date.

The father's birthplace is listed as "unknown", so perhaps he and Margaret weren't married, and he wasn't around for the birth. Researching a possible marriage and divorce with William Burke may help confirm.

Cora Pepin Dowling is my Grandmother.  She was a wonderful, vibrant, funny woman who always made me smile.  I miss her so much.  I also have memories of Cora's mother, my Great Grandmother, Margaret Pepin.  I remember her British accent and her smile.
