Howell Street
It helps us if when requesting this type of look up you tell us the location of the marriage

Sorry, Yes it's a Welsh town in Aberavon. Everyone I ask is unanimous with Howell St, for that I thank you, but it doesn't seem that Howell St existed.

I've seen a single newspaper reference to Howell Street, Sandfields, Aberavon (in an 1895 bankruptcy notice concerning a David Jones, grocer). However on checking the Gazette notice, it turned out to be Powell Street.

I've been looking at the old OS maps on NLS and the only street that I can find is Powell Street. It might have been written as Hywel as an alternative but nothing so far. What date was the marriage?

Hi, The marriage was 1895. Powell St has been suggested to me as possibly being the correct address. Where would I find a map with Powell St on it. Thanks for your help. Maybe it was interpreted wrongly, as he had a broad Irish accent
