1851 look up please HAGGER West Ham area
« on: Saturday 06 August 05 00:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

If anybody has aa 1851 census index for the West Ham area, I would be most grateful for a look-up of any HAGGAR/HAGGER which could relate to:

Hannah HAGGER bc1823 Walthamstow, Essex or "Toll House", Middlesex

Henry HAGGER, possible husband, a butcher.

Many thanks

I think I may have recently found them under a completed different surname altogether.

SNEWIN in Bow - married without a husband but can't see a marriage - elation and then deflation within a couple of minutes ;D

I now think the "Toll House" in later census is possibly a contrived version of "Tottenham" ::)

Are you saying Hannah is listed as Hannah Snewin aged ? with child/children? (I can't see the 1851 and i'm not getting those discs out  ;))

SNEWIN (including variants) appears to be a Middx name..........46 people are listed under that name in the census of 1841 Middx...........

she could have been married to a Mr Snewin......he then died......and then she married Mr Hagger  ;D
