black/anderson family lived in markethill, armaugh ni

So far it looks as though this is what you have-

William Black married (1852) Fanny Anderson
1. Harriet (9 in 1861)
2. Luke (6 in 1861)
3. Martha (3 in 1861)
4. Sarah M. (1 in 1861)

However, the facts don't quite agree with this-
Harriet's birth gives mother's maiden name as Willis
Luke's birth gives mother's maiden name as Willis
Martha's birth gives mother's maiden name as Willis
Sarah Mary's birth gives mother's name as Willis
(all checkable on GRO's site)
Then we have son daughter born 1870 in Ireland giving mother's maiden name as Willis.
All these records can't be wrong. Therefore, either it is not the correct family or Fanny's maiden name is Willis. It's possible that
1) Fanny was Willis and married to a Mr. Anderson before she married William Black or
2) she went by both surnames (illegitimate, stepfather's name or name of mother's partner. etc.)

You really do need to get the marriage certificate to confirm Fanny's details.

Meanwhile in Ireland Markethall comes under the parish of MULLAGHBRACK
There is a Luke Black with son Mathew marrying a Mary Black d of Robert in 1849.
His other son Robert married Mary Black d of Mathew in 1831.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any baptisms online  for the 1830's. Church of Ireland.

I've checked the Presbyterian chapel at Markethill and no Willis ,Black or Fanny Anderson.
Catholic records baptisms start 1843.Again no Black,Anderson or Willis.

The only other clue  is informant on the 1870 birth is Margaret Black.

It needs an expert on NI genealogy but you need that marriage certificate.

it seems i may have the wrong family, after a bit of back tracking ive worked out that Sarah M Black was infact born in 1871 and not 1860 as first thought. So im back to square one needing to find out her parents. She was born in Ireland and married a William Shedden in newcastle in 1887. They had a few children one of which is a Sarah my grandmother born in 1898.

We've already been over this- you'll need to know their religion to look for church records, Fanny's name listed as Willis on children's birth records, etc.- and it's County ARMAGH.

- a Robert Black of Lattery married a Mary Black in Mullabrack Church of Ireland on 9 November 1849, Robert's father given as Luke Black, farmer.   

- a Harriett Black of Lattery married a Matthew Black in Mullabrack Church of Ireland on 2 March 1853, Harriett's father given as Luke Black, farmer.

As they were married in Newcastle registry office I don't know the religion. Their daughter my grandmother Sarah was married in All Saints church, Newcastle which is an elliptical church,and old catholic is mentioned. Fanny is stated as a spinster on the marriage certificate so fanny Willis is a different person. I know she was remarried to a Thomas Quinn. I'm trying to find out about the family in Amargh and when they left thank you
