hello everyone ;D
I am looking for any information (where born, lived etc)about a John(dec., by 1884) & Jane Higgins (Nee mcgivern born 1840?), i know they had a daughter Martha who became a Rooney.
Martha married a Francis Rooney in 1884. (his dad was James Rooney dont know wife name dont know how to find ) They were my nanna parents and had 13 children, dont know much about them except the lived at Vulcan Street,Ballymacarrett, my nanna was a deaf mute and was sent to a 'special' school, interestingly my nanna was suppose to be in the papers around 1910-15!!!! hername Maryjane
anyway i could go on but i wont ;)
i wouold be grateful if anyone can help

This is the only Francic with father James on BIVRI - would make him only 16-17 when he married tho and looks like wrong part of ireland, although that dosnt rule him out of course ;D

Thank you for the Rooney one, I havent really got any futher than Francis Rooney other than his dad name which is one the marriage cert., but on the marriage cert., it has got witness by a Bridget Rooney!! wether thats a sister or her mother i am not sure, on the marriage cert it says full age for Francis as well.
Is Castlereagh far from Ballymacarrett??

I m not sure of distance but Antrim and Down are next to each other so probably not an enormous distance!  ;D

Hi Angela, Welcome to Rootschat.

The Rooney family still live in that area but the Higgins have moved on.

Castlereagh in not far from Ballymacarrett just up the Road about 1 mile ?.

I have some people trying to find something for me will get back to you as soon as i get anything.
