Pound Hall, Long Melford

Could anyone tell me what Pound Hall at Long Melford was or used as in 1917. I have noticed that my Great Uncles brother Capt Arthur Abraham, MC who was killed in action left a wife Ruth A Abraham of Pound Hall, Long Melford, Suffolk. I'm wondering if it was a family residence or home as my uncle and his brother had come over to do their duty from British Columbia in Canada. Presumably Ruth had also come back over as well, maybe to be with her family as they had only emigrated to BC 1n 1913.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Ruth A Abraham is on a passenger list in 1919 returning to the UK as a widow of 31 and going to
Pound Hall , Long Melford , Suffolk.

Arrived Glasgow 9 November 1919 from Montreal on the ship Melita.

In a report of the funeral of Colonel Robinson in 1935, funeral left from Pound Hall.
In 1912he was living at Lyston Old Rectory, Long Melford. Five years later he moved to Pond Hall, Long Melford.
"To our beloved father, Ruth, Mary and Doreen."
Principal mourners were Mrs Robinson(widow), Mrs Abrahams, Mary and Doreen Robinson(daughters).

Think Ruth Ayliff Robinson born c 1889 Cape of Good Hope was the daughter of Macleod Bawtree Robinson and Theodora Eugenie Robinson (nee Dahl) .The family can be found in 1911.

It is a long time since I was drinking coffee in Pound Hall kitchen with a other mums from the nearby pre-school playgroup  In those days (late 1970s) it was in need of renovation and repairs. It has since been updated and was sold for over a million pounds a few years ago. It is still the most striking house along top green in Long Melford. In think Pound Hall belonged to the Hyde Parkers of Melford Hall. My mother, Phyllis Travers, rented the house from 1938 to 1940, and I think Lady Hyde Parker, who was Danish, arranged for my sister Patience, later The Hon. Mrs. Gurth Addington, sister -in-law to the then Lord Sidmouth, to spend some time in Denmark.

My grandparents, Wilfred and Gwladys Marsden, lived at Pound Hall during and after WW2. They rented it from the Hyde Parker family.  Wilfred had just retired from his job as Keeper of the Printed Books at the British Museum.  He had a study filled with interesting books.  Gwladys was a great cook and welcomed family and friends who came to stay.  She was involved with the Long Melford W.I.

Hi there I'm looking for information about the pound family like where they camed from and what they did for a living. The only information I have is my great nan Lydia ingarfield great aunt Elizabeth born Lee birth 1836 and death june 18 1903 she married to Thomas pounds August 17th 1858.
And apparently Elizabeth was a house servant some where around Ramsbury.
So I would love to no where the pounds family camed from and what they did for a living I did look up the history on the family Google but its a little confusing for me.
