I still can not find any thing about his Army days or even a pension !. This is all I can find

Army details as known are:- Duke of Wellington Regt., 8th Army map caravan driver for General Montgomery’s 2nd in command at El Alamein.

See my reply.....his Army record is with the MOD and not available online.

You need to apply, details given in the link I posted.
