The children may have gone into the care of Southwark and been fostered out and then adopted (no process for adoption until 1927) so then a more informal situation. You would have to look in the poor law records for Southwark at the London Metropolitan Archives.

I've got people in Munton Road, Newington in 1878, number 128, but it's also listed as (can't read the certificate properly...) The Palalmate(?) does that mean anything to anyone? Not sure it really helps, though.
Looking up the Blakey Woolley Kyte Mellor & Cresswell families in Derbyshire (around Smalley area), Tweedale & Prince families of Wakefiled/Sunderland, and the Cheeseman, Brading & Axworthy families (amongst others!)

Hi,

I spent 12 years living next door to 254 Munton road, which was my friends fathers flat.

254 was on the top floor of the large old victorian tennament block and was a 1 bedroom, kitchen and living area layout with no bathroom or running hot water.

The block was located in Walworth, which is in Southwark and the old parish of Newington.

254 was at the rear of the block and looked directly over Victory place school.

The block was demolished in 1972 to make way for a green area of the new Heygate council estate.

I cannot find any photos at the moment, but if I do, will post them on this site.

Regards,

Steve
