Can anyone, anyone please help me?

I really need to know if St Martins, Bullring, Birmingham has a graveyard.

If it doesnt, god help me - I need a quick look at a death and a marriage register.

I need some info, not a lot, just a little.......

Burial of GEORGE FARMER AGE 38 ON THE 22ND DEC 1833.

Mar of MARY FARMER, WIDOW, TO THOMAS BUNN ON THE 10TH APRIL 1834.

I need to know if George Farmer was the Husband of Mary who married Thomas Bunn.

Someone out there must feel the need to help?

Have checked the National burial index for George Farmer and you have the correct information
did a google search and came up with this address and email for St Martin's so they may be able to help, sorry I am unable to help about the remarriage of Mary Farmer.I have sent a PM.

Have you found Thomas Bunn and his wife Mary on the 1841 or 1851 census? How old was Mary when she became a widow? Do you know if Mary and George Farmer had any children before he died?
I would be happy to help if you could provide more details.

If you search on Google images you will find three photographs of St. Martins (unlikely any church in a city or town centre has much of a graveyard left and besides the majority of the population when buried did not have a gravestone, and if they did with pollution and the time span many have become illegible or broken). By 1833 St Martins churchyard was under severe strain space wise and burials were probably on top of older burials

William Hutton wrote of St Martin's Church that "the growth of the soil causes a low appearance to the building so that instead of the church burying the dead the dead will in time bury the church".

The registers for St. Martins church are at Birmingham Record Office. What further infromation do you have on the Bunns and the Farmers.

Hi Strechie,

Unfortunately there is now no burial ground at St Martins, it has all been paved over as it is part of the " new Birmingham town centre.

I know that they do have St Martins records at Birmingham Central library, you could possibly email them and ask them for help.

Valda, I find this absolutely hysterical - can just imagine the church being swallowed up by a wave of earth, as headstones & coffins come to the surface and bury it

My brother was a public health inspector in Birmingham in the 1970s, when inner city graveyards where still a cause for concern with subsidence. Before the arrival of Birmingham cemeteries, it could not have been what people wanted for their loved ones trying to bury in such overcrowed churchyards.

Still cannot help with answer, but may have a connection with the name. I dont have very much information as it is at the end of a branch which I have not had time to confirm yet.

I have a Caroline Bunn born 1850 in Pensnett, Kingswinford, Dudley. She married a Thomas Lewis (no date yet) the rest to the present date can be confirmed. Maybe this Caroline is connected to your Bunn line?

Thanks to everyone who read my plea for help.
here are the answers to some of your questions:

Ive tried the email address today and that was non deliverable, so looks like I'll have to use good old pen and paper.

Ive asked for help at the Library and they just said they could'nt do search's - even though I had all the dates they needed!, but hey, who's complaining?

1841 census - I dont know yet.  Need a search doing for that.

1851 census the Bunns are at Dodderhill, Crutch & Papermill. Witherfords Buildings.
1852 John Farmer, eldest son; married in Widnes Lancashire, rest of the family also located in Widnes on the 1861 census.

Mary Bunn (Farmer, nee Price) born Dodderhill abt 1809.  Mary died in Widnes, Lancashire 21st Feb 1870 of bronchitis.

George Farmer - I dont know anything about at all.

Mary & George Farmer had one son; John Farmer b.1832 Dodderhill.

Mary & Thomas Bunn had 4 children. Eliza / Sarah / Thomas and Sarah Ann.  (Sarah died in 1842)  Family may be living in Charford at this time.

I think that covers everything?
