  Great find Heywood certainly seems likely that Mary Cotter (previously Lawton) present at deaths was related to mother Kate Lawton (Sheehan) & maybe took in the children after mothers death :)

Just muching around in the Census. Posting this in case I lose it.
May not be relevant but there are some Lawton staying with Cotters in Carrigtwohill in 1901

and a widowed Thomas Cotter

tks sinann all worth delving into I am thinking maybe Kate Lawton who married John Sheehan may have married in Carrigtwohill will check registers :)

A Catherine Sheehan, father John barman deceased married in 1887 to Thomas Murnane

I agree, Have found a Baptism in Carrigtwohill for a Kate Lawton Nov 25th 1849 Father David Lawton - cannot read mothers surname first name ABBY sponsors Pat Kelleher Ellen Daly

On Michaels enlistment she is nok as Katie Sheehan James Ave, Chicago. I might post a request on the US board  tks for your help :)
