Lettice Hayhurst - looking for bapt c.1818

Using Lan OPC and 1818+/- 5 i don't see any baptism of a child to John,a grocer.Maybe Lettice was illegitimate and dreamt up her fathers name to avoid embarrassment.

What about the Thomas Kenyon and his wife Jane nee Cooper who took in all of James and Lettice Fish' children, he was a bricklayer also, but quite a responsibility to take in all three children, related in anyway?
1851 census Blackburn, Richard Fish 9, Ann Fish 5, Letitia Fish 2.

In 1861 even though Thomas has died and Jane is living with her married daughter Ann Hilton, Lettice Fish is still living with them described as an orphan.

I am confused - marriages to Thomas Cowpe  - James Fish  - John Lomax - which one did your Lettice marry ?

OK - you never mentioned that in 1841 census James Fish aged 20 -24 Lettice Fish aged 20 - 24 - William Poston aged 15-19 and Oliver Hirst .aged 15-19 are in an Institution ...in Union Street, Blackburn ,Lancashire ..
Can any member advise us as to what this Institution was please ?  I will search this site to see if it is mentioned 
added -not mentioned on this site - been on map of Union Street and it is only a small Street - so doen't look like a Workhouse or Hospital ??...any thoughts ??

John Hayhurst, Charles Warmsley, Henry Smithies, James Turner, Robert Parkinson something concerning a partnership, I don't have a sub so cannot read all of it.
My point is that a Charles Warmsley signed as a witness to the marriage of James Fish to Lettice Hayhurst, could be a clue.

James Fish buried St Mary the Virgin Blackburn 25 November 1849 aged 30.

Lettice also died aged 30 in 1849, was there a flu epidemic or some other malady going around.

Do you have the death certificates, who reported the deaths to the registrar?

Oooh thanks so much for all this guys! No I don’t have their death certificates. I should perhaps order them.
I do have Blackburn Kenyon’s in my tree but they are on my mums side and these Fish/Hayhurst are on my dad’s side! I have wondered if there could be some connection because as you say it’s quite a commitment to take on three orphan children but I haven’t found a link as yet.
I hadn’t realised that the 1841 address was an institution and I don’t know who the other two people in the household are. I did wonder if Oliver Hirst may have been  mistranscribed and he could be a Hayhurst but no evidence for this.

1841 isn't an Institution, they are living on Union Street.
The cover page for the area states it is for Pump Street, Back Street and Union Street.
