Petitions lodged by convicts especially ones under the death sentance

Hi

I would be most grateful if someone could help me to locate a petition, lodged on behalf of
a William Pinner sentenced to death on 2nd Jan 1837,  at the Old Bailey.His sentence was commuted to life and transported to Australia, but I would be interested in who spoke up for him.
Any help would be of great help.

Hi Jan,
Did you ever get anywhere on this?  Asking because my 3xgt grandmother's brother Peter Ludwell was William's "victim" and her husband (my 3xgt-grandfather) John Nicholls the main witness. 

I've found a news article dated 4 February 1837 saying he was given clemency by the King, so things moved pretty fast!

Would be interested to know more if you've found anything?
