Thomas BURNS/ Battle of Loos

Where did you find the information about his regiment and date of death?

From his Grandson, who I am doing the research for. I would think 1915 would be the year.

go to G.5.b. (fosse no.8 ) & that is the trench the 6/RSF where in on the day.
Below is a local map on which I've indicated the same.
These trenches in red were German.

Had a look at the book but it doesn't give Thomas BURNS father's name (John) which could have helped.

Was his name wife's name Martha which is the wife of the man nanny jan cites.  The Battle of Loos took place in 1915.

More if you can confirm that although I find no other Thomas Burns of that regiment.

Does make me wonder if the above is the Thomas BURNS  when there is no other Burns of that regiment.

Perhaps the cousin should review the family information.  I find no Thomas Burns marriage in 1903 in the Newcastle district.
Recap - the only Royal Scots Fusilier of that name who appears on the CWGC site is the one who died at Loos in 1915

May be worth checking the regiment also, there are other regiments with very similar names.

Yes, I have just found the marriage on Scotlands People - this would appear to be him but, will check with the grandson.

I can confirm that the Thomas BURNS with wife Martha and regiment, are correct. They were married in Dumfries 17 April 1903.
