Jessie Drewett or Druett was born 1879 in Harborne, Staffs (later Warwickshire, then part of Birmingham), the daughter of Charles Drewett and Mildred Taverner. She is in the 1881 census as Jessey Drewett age 2, with her parents, and in the 1901 census as Jessie Drewett age 21, living with her married sister Clara and family. In the 1911 census she appears as Jessie Davenport, age 28, living with her married sister Emily and family, along with her own children, including Nora Lambert age 7 born Wall Heath and Marjorie Davenport age 4, born Smethwick.
'Nora' was born 16 Jun 1903 and baptised 28 Jan 1904 at Kingswinford Parish Church as Elenora Rosina Lambert, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin Lambert and Jessie. Her birth was registered in Stourbridge SepQ 1903 as Eleanora Rosina Lambert (mother nee Drewett). Marjorie was registered in Kings Norton DecQ 1906 as Marjorie Vere Lambert (mother nee Drewett).
I don't know whether 'Nora' continued to use the surname Tallantyre before/after Snow's death in 1954, but the GRO Death Index includes a NE Cheshire entry in JunQ 1964 for 'Norah Tallantyre' aged 58 yrs, which I am unable to account for otherwise.
Hope this helps.

This is brilliant, and info I didn't know. I have not heard of Emily. I do know that Nora's eldest son Terence moved from Birmingham to Manchester around 1949/50 Nora moved there a few years later, and her other children went with her. Later she moved to Cheadle in Cheshire. She eventually moved in with her daughter who also lived in Chealdle. She did in fact keep the name Tallantyre until she died, but I am convinced, because Snow's daughter in law told me, she never married Snow, she just took his name. All of her children were were given the name Tallantyre. Harry was a Lambert, and so was Marjory, even though she was given the name Davenport. Denny the youngest child was definitely a Davenport. I heard that when Jesse married a Davenport Nora was sent to live with her aunt Bunny because she wasn't accepted by her step father. Thanks for the info. Can I ask if you are a Tallantyre?

Do you know if Snow has any surviving relatives other than his and Nora's children?
Terence, Nora and Snow's eldest son had four children with his wife, but also had another son who was born somewhere in Manchester. Do you know anything about him? I would very much like to trace him.

William Vivian Shannan died in 1954 (27 York Road, Holland-on-Sea) and left probate to Lloyds Bank and Ruby Jean Shannan, widow.

Ruby died in 1957, and probate to Norman Vivian Shannan, engineer designer draughtsman.

Norman V Shannan died in 1992, born 1920.
There is a picture of him (via Ancestry) of when he got his RAC Aviators Certificate.

Norman married Margaret M S Bowes.  She died in Devon in 2000.
