Thanks I must have missed he was a widower on the 1915 passenger list when I had a look at it last night.
As for the census' it all seems to fit, the only thing is why has he put down he's naturalized in 1918 but the names and the ages are too perfect to be anybody else.
CityHall in Ireland annoyingly enough, they call themselves McAlindon, Mcalinden, McLinden and McLindon at different times. So I've been searching under every variation I can think of but everything I've found so far in the US has been under McLindon.

All I knew before Margaret was in Ireland in 1911 census and died in 1922 after the birth of their third, with Hugh taking them back to Ireland, where he had the support network of his extended family.
