Coldstream Guards births
« on: Saturday 21 October 17 15:26 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the birth of Alice Blackmore, born to Isaac and Eliza Blackmore, Dublin 1862.
Isaac was employed as a Soldier - in Coldstream Guards from 1847 to 1871.
Does anyone know how Guards births were registered?
I've enquired to the GRO in the past for foreign/military births but drawn a blank.
All I know is that she gives her birth place consistently as Dublin in all censuses, even when married.

My children where born whilst hubby was  serving in the Coldstream guards ov much later dates 1975 & 1979 .
The address on their birth cert is of the army married quarters we where living in at the time & both born in the local hospital from where we where stationed at the time. Unless born in a private nursing homeor at home  I think it would have been the same then . The problem I had was both where baptised in the guards chapel inside the barracks & the barracks have now been de commissioned although the chapel as a building remains .My daughter married in a catholic church so needed the copy from the original parish book. After several months the books where discovered at national archives kew listed under of all things war records
