Two more difficult Kerr-Wilson photos

A big Thank You to all who responded to my last query about the three male Kerr photos from Abernathy's Studio. 

These two are of John Kerr's wife, Margaret Wilson and their children.  Not taken at Abernathy's they are mounted on a very thin, almost paper-like backing, as are the photo themselves. 

The little girl standing on the chair is my great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Kerr, who was born in 1868 and the child standing on the floor is her elder sister Mary, born in 1866. Between 1862 and 1875 the Kerrs had seven children, with only three surviving infancy so it's difficult to put names to the two pictured with their mother.

Any idea of dates?  Other eyes might fare better than mine.

Pic. 1 is certainly 1860's but difficult to say which part as this was pretty much what all women wore for most of that decade. I would suggest this is earlier only because she still has her ears covered which is an 1850's - early 60's style & most women had changed by mid decade. So 1863-66 but could be later depending on how fashionable she wanted to be.
Pic. 2 is 1870's. The rounded corners suggest at least mid decade.

If you're interested in a restore, particularly of the two girls, I think with a higher resolution scan it would come up nicely.... I've not done much, but this two minute tweak makes me think that this would be worth doing.

Had a go at a restore, mainly at bringing out their faces. As Andy says, you could get some really nice results with a higher resolution scan.

Similar comments apply to this other picture, the baby in particular being little more than an amorphous blob. If you are interested in a restore, Ann, I think a lot more detail could be teased out from a higher resolution scan.
