Hi,
I have traced my Walker Ancestors back to Francis Walker Chr.1.Aug 1756.in West Wycombe.
Married Martha Betts in Chearsley Oct 1780.
Remarried to Susanna Wheeler 29.Aug 1790 in Chearsley.

Francis was the son of Anne Wells and Francis Walker who were married in West Wycombe 1.10.1738 and this is where the trail runs cold for me.

Francis and Martha appear to be the first of the Walker line to reside in Chearsley, although I found reference to Thomas Walker of Lower Winchendon Marrying Mary Cusson in Chearsley in 1707 this
trail also dries up.
I can only best guess the relatives of Anne Wells from the available info.

Hi welcome to Rootschat.
Well nearly 10 years on I have not got any more news on Francis. Yes I also believe the High Wycombe details to be correct for his birth but have no more on his parents.
My line runs from his son John baptised 1796 John marries in Soulbury to Hannah Warner from Mursley in 1824 .his sister Martha also marries Soulbury in1827 to Stephen Tale but he is in fact Stephen Tearle . The Tearle family originate in Stanbridge Bedfordshire.
I am interested to know which line you are from and if I can further any research for you.
Best wishes
Tazzie

Hi Tazzie.
I am Robert Walker b1946 in Lower Winchendon. Now residing in Bedfordshire.
Directly descended from Anne Wells and Francis Walker. As follows-(In a nutshell)-
Francis Walker (W.Wycombe)/m.Martha Betts.(Chearsley)
Thomas Walker (Chearsley)/ m.Sarah Blake
Joseph Walker (b Cuddington) m Mary Todd (L.Winchendon)
Thomas Walker (Chearsley) m Sarah Watson (L.Winchendon) My G.GP,s
John Walker (L.Winchendon) m Ellen Louisa Francis (Colchester).My GP,s
Thomas Walker b1921 (L.Winchendon) m Gladys Harding (Middlesbro) My Parents.

My Grandmother Ellen ran the village shop in Lower Winchendon until her death in the 1960,s
Using info from my relatives and a Lady in L.Winchendon we have produced a reasonable family tree but by no means complete.
For your interest,I was married in Mursley and have access to a fair amount of information on the Lambourne family from the village…small world !!
Kind regards,
Rob

Hi Tazzie,
Thanks for the info.
Referring back to Francis Walker b1756.
I have scratched together a theoretical parentage as follows:
(i)Robert or (ii)Richard Wells married an Ann unkown.
They had a daughter Ann Wells b1716.Chr.in Hambleden.
Ann Wells married.Francis Walker 1 Oct 1738 in West Wycombe.
Children of Ann Wells and Francis Walker :-
   Thomas Walker b.1746 in W.Wyc.
   Sarah Walker b.1753 in W.Wyc.
Francis Walker b.1756 in W.Wyc. (Our Francis!!).

It is possible that (ii) Richard Wells was married to Ann Stevens in 1715.
This is for research only, but is as far as I can go without visiting The Bucks Family History Unit.

Hi Tazzie,
My other Walker ‘brick walls’ are as follows:-
1.   William Walker b.1805 in Cuddington married Ann Silver of Dorton.
They lived in Chearsley and had six (or seven) children, all of which I have recorded.
Ann Died in 1854c and William remarried to Mary Johnson b 1815 in Chearsley on 25 Dec.1864.
William Died 1875.
2.   Thomas Walker b.c1810 possibly in Cuddington.He married Sarah b.c1816 from Stadhampton.She died c1880.
They had one child Mary Anne b1848.
I believe these two guys are brothers from Cuddington, but I am unable to establish the parentage.
I have most of the descendants logged for William and Ann,including White’s and Badrick’s but need to complete the top end.
-any ideas?
Rob.
