James Mather who is potentially my 5th GG was in the Third West York Militia in 1808.

I wonder if there is a relationship there?

At the time there was also a John Mather.

MATHER, JOHN. Ensign 21st February, 1808 ; Lieutenant 4th De-
cember, 1808 ; (Eeceived Militia Disembodied Allowance
from 25th June, 1815) ; Eesigned 1852. (?)
