Missing birth record
« on: Friday 22 September 17 20:52 BST (UK) »
My 2 x gt grandfather Daniel Durrant was sup posed to have been born in Newington in about 1827.
I cannot find a birth or baptismal record for him.
His parents were Daniel Durrant and Sophia Chapman. He is on the 1851 census aged 15; he appears on the 1871 census living with his wife and daughter and his mother Sophia. On the 1861 census he appears living at 11 Coleshill Place but is mistranscribed .
Would be grateful if anyone can find a birth or baptismal record for him

Registration of births started in July 1837 so you will need to look for a baptism record.

Do you know the religion the family followed?
Howard , Viney , Kingsman, Pain/e, Rainer/ Rayner, Barham, George, Wakeling (Catherine), Vicary (Frederick)   all LDN area/suburbs  Ottley/ MDX,
Henman/ KNT   Gandy/LDN before 1830  Burgess/LDN
Barham/SFK   Rainer/CAN (Toronto) Gillians/CAN  Sturgeon/CAN (Vancouver)

Those ages don't match - if he was 15 in 1851 he was born about 1836.

Sorry should minus 10 years on each of the census. So 1841 not 1851; 1851 is the one mistranscribed and 1861 is where he is living with his mother ; wife and daughter.
Sorry for the confusion.
