Anyone visit the NRO at all?

The number is only of use to the GRO at Southport

One problem is that there are a large number of Civil Parishes within the Docking Registration District - 37.  Another is that by this time marriages are also taking place in Register Offices plus, of course, all the non-conformist churches. 

Very sorry if this all sounds very negative 

The registration number is quite late in the listing so could be registry office or N/C

There is a baptism for Walter Thomas Buckenham Cooper on 6 Aug 1871 at  Heacham, parents Thomas and Maria Buckenham (labourer)

Thomas Buckenham/Buckingham was baptized at Shouldham 15 March 1846, illegitimate son of Sarah.
No reported father mentioned
Stephen Buckenham was baptized 19 August 1852 of Sarah single woman

This may apply to her son Stephen Buckenham buried age 4 on 4 October 1852 although it may apply to the son of Richard and Elizabeth born 1847. More research needed.

Robert always has Shouldham next to him on the census.

I was thinking the same as Stephen was ill and that's why he was baptised so close to his burial

Okay finally found Robert in 1841 census.
His age is pretty consistent throughout 4 in 1841, 14 in 1851 and 23 in 1861, so 1837/8

His brother Thomas was actually born 1844 registered Downham, although not baptized until 2 years later, and Stephen was registered 1848 and not baptized until 1852, both have no mothers maiden name listed so illegitimate as with baptism records.
